Description

Vintage 1978 Mu-Tron III envelope filter effects pedal with original power supply by Musitronics. A very early examples of one of the first -- and best- envelope filters ever to hit the market. From Jerry Garcia to Bootsy Collins, the Mu-Tron II has left its mark musician history. Serial number on the Mu-Tron III is 4,136 while the PS-1 power supply unit is stamped with serial number 02672. This pedal is in 100% all original condition aside from a broken battery clip that was recently repaired. The power supply is also working and tested by a local music shop prior to posting. The Mu-Tron itself is in great shape, although there is currently an issue with the Drive switch. Techs at the local music shop couldn't get it to work, but said it should be fixable. Otherwise the Mu-Tron III is in 100% working order and ready to produce that legendary wah for which it's known. – From the original ’70s Mu-Tron advertisement “New, sophisticated, versatile… utilizing the latest in music synthesis techniques. Small enough to be a ‘mini-synthesizer’. Mu-tron III translates the envelope or ‘volume picture’ of every note automatically… into an easily-controlled, articulated, vowel-like sound – as fast or slow as you play. Use Mu-tron III to create a variety of synthesizer sounds through most electrified instruments – guitar, keyboards, drums, flute, saxophone, brasses, bass, mandolin… even microphone. The sharper your attack and the more percussive your instrument, the wilder your sounds. Mu-tron III can be used with an octave divider or other devices – or in pairs for cascading effects. Besides providing inverted vowel trajectory (‘staccato snap’), Mu-tron III also functions as an automatic ‘wah’ pedal.”Controls:Mode (LP/BP/LP) selects the type of filter: Lowpass, Bandpass, HighpassPeak Controls volume of the cutoff frequencyGain adjusts the filter’s sensitivity to the signal of your instrumentRange (Low/High) selects the frequency range covered by the filter envelope THIS SWITCH DOES NOT CURRENTLY WORKDown/Up selects the direction of the filter sweep: down or upwardsPower (Off/On) switches the power on or offSpecifications:Gain: variable from 0.1 to 40, when driven from a low impedance sourceInput Impedance: 1 megohm at lowest setting of GAIN control, variable to 3.3K ohms at maximum gain settingOutput Impedance: 600 ohmsMinimum Input Signal For Full Mu-Tron Effect: 1.5 mV from 600 ohm sourceMaximum Undistorted Output Signal: 3.6 volts RMSPower Supply: ±9 Volts from 2 NEDA 1604 batteries or Musitronics Model PS-1 Battery EliminatorDimensions: 8¾” l.
