Innovative Circuit Design for Lower Noise and Better Tone
At the core of the Plumes is a JFET operational amplifier that replaces the standard 4558 IC and BJT transistor buffers. This modern design raises the input impedance to nearly 10 megaohms, providing better signal integrity, lower noise, and a chimey high-end response. The pedal operates on 9V but internally converts it to +/- 9V, giving you more headroom and a clearer, three-dimensional tone. Three Clipping Modes for Ultimate Flexibility

Mode 1: Symmetrical clipping using a pair of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This mode delivers the crunchiest tone and can emulate classic British valve amp sounds. When paired with a clean amp, it delivers rich, dynamic distortion; when used with a dirty amp, it adds a filthy layer of overdrive.

Mode 2: Clean boost mode with no clipping diodes, delivering a straight OpAmp drive. Perfect for pushing your clean tone to the front or driving an already overdriven amp into breakup. This mode offers more headroom and is great for subtle gain increases or transparent boosts.
