I'm a fans of the DS-1. when you use it right, it sounds great. it also can be modded here and there to make it better (or worse).Analogman mods is one of my favorite mods for DS-1. and so I modded this unit similar to what Analogman did. I use same parts, high quality Panasonic and Nichicon caps. used carbon comp in some position. and added the extra mid-control.few things I did different, I use 1/2 watt carbon comp as I don't have stock of 1/4 watt. no effect as I checked and chose same value. I also upgrade the electrolytic caps at the power section. then, I use 1n2473 similar to what used for clipping diode in early MIJ DS-1.
