GFI System Specular Tempus is a stereo reverb and delay effects processor in a compact pedal. With 32 algorithms, 32 presets, stereo in/out, tap tempo and extensive interconnectivity.
There are no less than 13 reverbs, 17 delays and 6 reverb & delay combinations on this pedal. As for the reverb, there are the usual room, plate and spring reverbs. But in addition, the pedal also has a shimmer, vortex, tremble and an infinity reverb. Furthermore, there is a digital and analog delay, but also a spectral, filter and formant delay. The maximum delay time for most delays is 1 second.
Using the SpecLab software (free download) you get access to an extensive set of parameters for deep editing of each algorithm. The pedal has 32 presets that are organized in 4 pages. Each page has 4 banks, and each bank contains 2 patches: A and B.
The pedal has a simple operation and a large number of connection options. There is both an Aux In and an Aux Out, which allows you to connect an external switch to control the pedal or use the pedal to switch an amplifier channel, for example. There is an effects loop and it has a MIDI In connection.
Furthermore, the pedal has Tap-Tempo, where subdivisions can be specified uniquely for each preset. There is an auto knob swell, which allows you to slowly bring the parameter that is being controlled to the maximum value. The pedal also has an analog Dry-thru, which means that your original signal remains intact and is routed through the pedal via a purely analog path.
