Description

The world's first ever amp in a stomp box! Up for sale is an amazing all original 1988 Marshall Guv'nor. A bit battered and road weary, but loud, iconic and with a few tales to tell. I bought this from new and it featured on my board for a decade or so until the late '90s after which it took a well deserved break before touring the world with the Wedding Present Seamonsters 25 tour. Anyone who caught them on that tour will be familiar with the insane guitar sounds created by some masterful musicianship and aided in no small part by THIS Guv'nor (combined with a Marshall Stack, ProcoRat and a lot of intent). The Guv'nor was designed by Steve Grindrod to emulate and perform like a full cranked Plexi / JCM800, a tough ask but he came good.Marshall recently reissued these. I haven't played the new version, to be honest really not interested, there's no need. If you want the user friendly, predictability of a reissue this listing probably is not for you. If you fancy a bit of UK Indy history and some functional memorabilia which still has much to offer (and very loudly) then this could be for you. The pedal is sold as seen, is fully functional despite travelling the world a few times on its sabbatical (about a decade ago). The original battery cover is missing, went MIA somewhere on the Japanese leg of the tour!
