Price firm, pickup from Fortitude Valley/New Farm or postage available. An underrated pedal from Boss, the CE-3 is often compared to its earlier brethren in a not so favourable light, however with one simple mod it can sound exactly like a CE-2 but you have the added bonus of the Vibrato and stereo modes. This particular CE-3 was made in May 1983, so it’s an early black label Japanese model. If you know anything about vintage Boss, a majority of their pedals required ACA power (12v DC) this part of the circuit had failed so I have removed it and now this pedal DOES NOT require 12v power, it just runs on standard 9v DC like most modern pedals. The power filter cap has also been replaced and importantly, there is a resistor in the preamp section that caused a volume drop in this circuit, removing it solves this issue and makes the pedal sound much better.Physically the pedal has plenty of wear and tear but is overall in good condition, with no damage to the bottom label either.
