Description

The Source Audio Spectrum is a wide-ranging envelope filter with a bevy of primary and secondary controls (secondary ones are accessed by pressing the 'Alt' button on the top): input calibration, filter center frequency, envelope depth and speed (primary); and sensitivity, filter resonance, mix, and volume (secondary). The mode switch in the center showcases six default filter presets: 'Tron' emulates the Mu-Tron III low-pass filter; 'Dumpling' emulates the Lovetone Meatball low-pass filter; 'Thrust' emulates the Boss OC-2 combined with a "Notch, Low-Pass, Peak" filter (according to the online manual); 'Tron' (Alt) features a band-pass filter; 'Dumpling' (Alt) combines gated fuzz, octave down, and phaser effects; and 'Thrust' (Alt) features an octave up and octave down effect combined with a low-pass filter. These six presets can be overwritten and the pedal can be connected to a software editor (called the "Neuro Desktop Editor" or "Neuro Mobile App" depending on the device) for further customization. The pedal has stereo inputs and outputs, but keep in mind that when using the default presets, the wet effect will be applied the same way in both channels. I have not used the Neuro editor and so this pedal's presets remain the factory defaults, but the online manual suggests that several parameters can be altered regarding the way the Spectrum operates in the stereo field. This unit was used at home and has been kept in excellent condition. Includes original box and hardware (power supply and 1/4"-to-1/8" TRS cable), as well as a quick start reference card.
