Description

Vintage 1981 MXR phase 90 Effects Pedal w/Original BoxI recently had this thing serviced (see tech notes below), but I can’t use it on my primary live board, because for some reason it does not cooperate with the power supply brick. It will not work on bricks that have 1/8” outputs going to its 1/8” input, only power supplies with the barrel-style outputs to the phase 90’s 1/8” input are compatible. Why? I have no idea.On my other boards, it sounds amazing, and gives me no problems (I can’t even get it to do the LED glitch mentioned in the tech’s notes.). Still, I have 2 other, less-vintage models, so this one needs a new home.It has a new battery connector that was just installed, and a couple of diodes have been replaced, but other than those tweaks, and the knob not being original, this is all original, including the box, with the corresponding serial number. I dated it from the pot, which reads 1378132, indicating it was made in the 32nd week of 1981.Looks pretty good for a 43-yr. old stomp box, IMO.I’ll include the two power supply cables, but trust me, the 1/8” to 1/8” is a no-go…or maybe it’s just my board, but I doubt it.Tech notes:"I was able to replace the battery connector and I also found 2 faulty diodes that I replaced." "Twice out of probably two or 300 times I pressed foot switch, and the effect would engage though the LED would not. This typically indicates a poor connection on the interior poles of the foot switch. I used some electrical contact cleaner on the inside, and I could not replicate the issue after that."
