1972 Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi. I purchased from a claimed original owner without the original receipt. One replacement tone knob the owner said he replaced early on. The tone pot is different than the volume and sustain pots in that it has a solid shaft. The owner said he never had any modifications or repairs done. I consulted one of the highest regarded experts on Big Muffs in the country, Matt at Stomp Under Foot.Below is an email response after sending detailed pictures;The capacitor is normal. The thing on top is just the end of the leads from the cap that's underneath and they have done that a bunch of times. Why have they have done that? I have no idea but that is normal. The pot looks like it is a powered on off pot which they did use, but the way that one is wired up doesn't look right to me.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is definetly one of the best sounding early Big Muffs in existence in very good near 100% original condition.
