About the Unicorn Account

Description

This Loke ("Loh-kah") is a dreamy sounding simulation of a reel to reel tape machine at the convenience of your pedalboard (or on top of your amp). For whatever reason I tend to think of this as a piece of outboard gear or something after my pedals and before my amp- but it has features and handy controls that belong on a pedalboard. There is so much to explore and respond to in this pedal that I honestly get a little overwhelmed but you can let it take you for a ride of creativity and exploration. I'm selling because I underutilize it, and don't envision making any substantial changes to my rig- but could use the cash. If I am doing really well someday soon I will totally buy another in this (prettiest) LBE finish. Sounds identical to the others and has the same brilliant lights to indicate mode. The sound quality derives from the SPIN chip which is fairly common in high end digital pedals but has been extremely refined for this pedal- especially the random modulation wizardry. The sturdy casing and heavy turn of the knobs exudes quality and matches the bold sounds that it produces.Clearly, I love this- I hope it goes to a loving home. I use the absolute shizzle out of my Boss DD20, and while it's hard to compare the two - Loke sounds way better... but I'm addicted to the suite of features on the DD20 'Giga Delay'. My point is, I am a power user of the DD20, I lean into its extremes and have grown comfortable with it - and the Loke deserves a power user for it- because it can do so much and so well. If it were a staple in someone's rig I would be excited to hear their sound, no doubt. It is often compared the Strymon Deco- I have their V1 Deco and love it. The Loke sounds better to me and is way more interesting to play with- again it's like an instrument or outboard gear in my mind, whereas the Deco for me fits more seamlessly into a pedalboard but it's just my preference. despite their similarities I use them totally differently. You would probably be happy with either one- don't sleep on the Loke though. I think if it clicks with you, you'll never look back. It requires high current (250 milliamp at 9-volts). It's lightly used, kept clean, no apparent wear/marks to speak of. The cardboard box has seen some wear - it's getting floppy or punctured in a few places, but is doing its job :)Spiral Caster does a little demo of this (and the mime pedal) on Little Box Exclusive's channel - I appreciate what he says about the pedal but you can seek out more concentrated videos about Loke.I have it ready to ship in a larger box for protection and appreciate if you can communicate shipping preferences ahead of the order so I can accommodate quickly. I tend to UPS Ground and ask buyer's about signature requirements - let me know. Thanks for looking!
