Mike Nix from roknfnrol demos our modified GE-7. -We use high quality metal film components when replacing cheaper components. Some components are of a different value to improve overall tone response and to help eliminate noise. -We use high quality/low noise NE5532 op amps (chips) as replacements for the three stock op amps (the older MIJ GE-7's actually have four),The result is a warmer, fuller pedal with more clarity and less noise. And of course we put in a nice bright blue LED…the “water clear” LED is clear when the pedal is off, and a nice bright blue when on. This is great for a dimly lit stage, but also a bright LED is a must if you play outside gigs....but not too bright :)We get some of these with cracked knobs. And let me start off by saying the noise is gone! This is amazing, I can use the GE-7 in conjunction with my distortion and there's no noise! And the blue led is so much better than the stock red one, no more confusing moments of "is it on or off?" And the Big Muff 9v is much more convenient for my pedal board.
