About the Unicorn Account

Description

I believe it was in January of 2012 when the NAMM community saw for the first time a new envelope pedal that was a somewhat more convenient twist on the Mutron effect used by Jerry Garcia and others. The pedal was called the Proton, and it would go on to fame and glory as a superior envelope effect. This one I have for sale is serial number 17, which means it was almost certainly sold at the 3Leaf NAMM booth during the 2012 introduction of the Proton. I've had several envelope pedals, and I have certainly made good use of this one and enjoyed it. I'm ready to pass it on now, so you can benefit from it, whether you're a collector or just want to revel in this unique sound. The basic idea is that it's an optically controlled analog envelope filter. I liked it best when I wasn't using any or much gain on my board, so the bubbly wah sounds were easy to control. Then you can put on some gain in your amp. When you use the Proton, you're playing the pedal as well as playing the guitar, so you can coax it to do more or less, depending on how hard you play. After a while you get mesmerized. I really think that's where the fascination lies with this effect. It's not a synth, not a regular wah, but somewhere in between.I put a really nice piece of Velcro hook material on the bottom of this pedal.  I think you will want to leave it on there, because it's a great Velcro job (ha ha, but yeah). I will ship to any of the lower 48 continental United States or Canada. I’ve got several items for sale, so it might take me a day or two to pack it up, but I will ship it by the carrier that seems best, once I do get it ready.Once you commit to buying this item, please pay within four hours, so I'll know you really want it. I do not offer returns, because I'm just an individual selling things that are in good shape, and also not selling new items like a store.I'm set up in Reverb Payments to accept credit cards and PayPal. Looks like Reverb Payments will accept several methods, and it all comes out right.
