Tri-Band Enhancer
The Tri-Hormonic Phalanx approaches gain from a different angle, treating the guitar signal as a spectrum to be shaped rather than a single block to be pushed harder or softer. Instead of applying the same amount of drive to everything, it separates lows, mids, and highs into parallel paths and lets each range be controlled on its own terms. The result is a tone that stays balanced, focused, and responsive, even as harmonic content is added where it matters most.
Each band has its own gain and level relationship, which makes it possible to keep low strings firm and clean while driving the midrange into focused saturation, or to add presence to the top end without thinning the body of the sound. Subtle settings can act as a wide, full-spectrum clean lift that enhances clarity and dynamics, while more extreme blends create layered structures where clean and driven frequencies coexist without masking each other. Because saturation is assigned by register rather than applied globally, the sound remains tight and controlled even when parts become dense.
The character of the gain comes from dedicated MOSFET stages in each path, chosen for their fast attack, smooth transition into clipping, and natural compression. Harmonics develop gradually and remain tied to playing dynamics, which keeps the response feeling immediate rather than processed. Chords stay articulate, single notes retain punch, and the instrument’s natural voice remains present even as grit is introduced.
After shaping, the three paths are blended through a phase-coherent summing stage that keeps the combined signal clear and stable across all settings. This makes it possible to build complex gain structures without volume jumps, muddiness, or unwanted buildup, and allows the pedal to remain predictable and reliable in both studio and live environments. The output level stays consistent even when the internal balance between clean and driven content changes.
The Phalanx is intended to sit at the very front of the signal chain, shaping the guitar before it reaches overdrives, distortions, modulation, or delay. By defining how much body, focus, and edge are present at the source, everything that follows reacts with more control and musicality. It can serve as a neutral foundation that improves the behavior of the entire rig, or as an active tone-sculpting stage that defines the overall character of the sound before further processing takes place.
Beyond its functional role, the pedal reflects a design philosophy built around balance, interaction, and intention. The three bands mirror the idea that strength comes from coordinated elements working together, not from forcing everything in the same direction. From its circuit architecture to its visual identity, the Tri-Hormonic Phalanx carries that concept quietly and consistently, turning technical structure into something that feels intuitive and expressive in use while raising awareness about acromegaly.
Designed and manufactured in Switzerland by RhPf Electronics, the Tri-Hormonic Phalanx represents an original approach to gain staging, built for players who want precise control over where clarity ends and saturation begins, and who see tone shaping as part of performance rather than a fixed setting chosen once and forgotten.
