Wavefolding Fuzz
Handmade fuzz. Circuit is a unique blend of some of my favorite fuzz circuits. The first stage is Bosstone inspired. This feeds a gnarly wave folding circuit called a non selective frequency tripler. The outputs of these are mixed Fuzzrite style, resulting in a unique gain/tone sweep.
A toggle switch allows for 3 hard clipping diode arrangements, 2 of which are asymmetrical. (Up: (A) Si/Schottky, Ctr: (A) LED, Down: (S) Si)
By utilizing your guitar controls, playing dynamics and these simple controls, the Filthy Aminal can go anywhere from slight overdrive/boost, to full out gates, nasty, octave-y fuzz tones.
All of my pedals are made by me in my 2 bedroom apartment. I do what I can with what I have. I also believe in giving things new purpose, and minimizing waste. The PCB was made in my kitchen. The knobs and toggle switch came from an old, broken mixing console. The germanium transistors came from tone generators pulled from a scrapped out organ. I drill the enclosures and screen print them by hand. They aren't perfect. But you step on them. And it sounds good, which is what really matters, right?!?
