The DSI Mopho is a compact, affordable, yet remarkably powerful monophonic analog synthesizer.
Its voice architecture closely resembles a single voice of the Prophet ’08, but with a few unique twists that set it apart from its award-winning sibling.
It includes two sub-octave generators — one for each oscillator — adding extra weight and depth for thick, crushing bass tones.
An audio input allows external signals to be processed through Mopho’s filter and envelopes, while the synth’s own audio can be fed back into the signal path before the filter, creating feedback effects that range from subtle warmth to full-blown distortion and sonic mayhem.
The Push It button acts as a manual trigger, letting you play or latch notes and sequences, or even step through a sequence to perform short melodic phrases — no keyboard required.
Naturally, Mopho can also be controlled via MIDI or an external sequencer for more traditional setups.
Mopho is fully programmable, and every parameter can be edited directly from the front panel.
The four Assignable Parameter controls can be customized per patch for optimal hands-on performance.
A free software editor is available for both macOS and Windows, making deep programming a breeze.
(If you already own a Prophet ’08, you can even control most Mopho parameters directly from its front panel via MIDI.)
Ideal for anyone wanting to explore real analog synthesis without breaking the bank, Mopho is also perfect for DJs seeking to inject old-school analog character into their sets and for musicians who value a great-sounding, ultra-portable monosynth.
