4 channel build of my v3 quantizer
Version 3 of my Quantizer is Teensy 4.0 based. Scales are easily programed by the user in the Arduino IDE. Virtually any microtonal scale is possible as long as each octave is the same. The main PCB comes with all SMT components soldered, a small number of through hole components still need to be soldered. Choose a 8 channel or 4 channel I/O board based on the size of the module you want to build. Blue PCB panels are available as well as files to order your own Front Panel Express aluminum panel.

Quantizers take continuously varying voltages and translate them into steps. Normally 1/12 volt which can then be used by VCOs to play a chromatic 12 tone scale in tune. The main use of Quantizers is to make it easier to tune sequencer steps or tune sample and hold outputs.
This Quantizer includes either 8 or 4 independent channels of quantizing, depending on the build, which share common DISTRIBUTION, SCALE. BANK, and HOLD/SAMPLE AND HOLD controls
This quantizer is capable of virtually any scale using equal divisions of the octave. There are several Microtonal scales already and users can program their own scales. Programing scales (replacing existing ones) is covered in the user guide.
There are 8 (or 4) channels of quantizing.
Each channel is independent, but shares the scale bank and hold/S&H settings.
There are 64 scales in 4 banks of 16. Scales can be programed by the user with the Arduino IDE.
Both bank selection and scale selection are voltage controllable.
There are 2 modes of output quantizing Volts/Octave or Equal Distribution which controls how included intervals are spread withing the 1v octave.
Hold/S&H has 2 modes which are switch selected. In hold mode VC will cause the quantizer to hold its outputs regardless of what is at its inputs. In S&H mode a voltage greater than the treshold will cause the Quantizer to sample its inputs, which will then be held until the next time the threshold is passed.
A Trigger pulse is output at TRIG OUT when the S&H or T&H is triggered.
