This is a great soft-knee optical compressor in the vein of the Teletronix LA-2A and LA-3A compressors. I have both of those units, and can safely say that this sits somewhere in between the two. Not quite as slow and smooth as the 2A, but a little slower and smoother and with less mid-range than the 3A.
