I have owned and used just about every clone on the market and these definitely punch well above their weight class, especially if you value the real, vintage Neve 1073 sound!These are ready to ship! Not a build to order or a kit, these are ready to install and get to work in your studio. The 1073 sound is an undeniable tone that once you hear it, you immediately understand the reason why this sound is so sought after. There is something amazing about the way that it saturates and makes everything you record through it sound BIG. I have noticed when I record through this preamp, it makes me use less EQ, less compression, less post processing, because it just makes everything sound so good straight away. Phenomenal for vocals, with the way it saturates, it also practically eliminates the need for a De-esser. Great on guitars, wonderful on bass, nice and punchy on percussion and drums. The input and output are sent through some BIG iron, in the form of Carnhill transformers, which I think are paramount to the overall sound character. And these are the full size transformers, not the tiny budget ones that get put in some of the other clones. This gives you the real deal sound. Buy with confidence!
