The Pico DSP is a slimmed-down version of the popular Black Hole DSP stereo effects processor. The module offers eight algorithms, specifically four different echoes, two reverb variants, Leslie and Overdrive / Bitcrusher. Each effect can be edited in two parameters and there is a CV input for modulation. The sound of the Pico DSP is clean and high-resolution as usual, and in addition to the usual standards, all kinds of crazy special effects can also be created.
Only the format of the Pico DSP is small, the sound quality is on a par with its big brother, the Black Hole DSP. Although the range of functions has been significantly reduced, the module can still cause quite a stir.
There is a socket with a red overload LED for input signals, and effect material is output in stereo. Processing algorithms can be selected using a button. A multicolored LED provides visual feedback as to which program is currently active. Each effect can be edited in two parameters, the first control value can be modulated via CV path. (See list below.) A dry/wet control determines the mixing ratio of raw and effect material.
The sonic potential of the Pico DSP is much greater than the form factor would suggest. The delay and reverb programs have a very atmospheric effect, and in addition to normal echoes, all kinds of new to experiment
